Oh Phyllo, the clown of the family. Bless his playful and active heart to keep Brutus active as much as possible so they both continue to stay healthy. He is probably the hungriest dog I have ever met. As much as he wants and willing to eat, he is the slimmest of both. God's gift!

My Brutus 2011

Today is Brutus' 1st anniversary with us. He was rescued as a foster last year and we decided to keep him. Brutus and Phyllo is god's match in heaven as brothers for life. Seeing both of them together sharing their lives together in peace and playfulness just makes my day. Many more happy years ahead.

It has been a year since we adopted Phyllo. To celebrate, we got him this ginormous cookie bone from Three Dog Bakery. We spent about a good 10 minutes taking pictures prior to him tearing it up. It was hilarious to see him shaking and trembling because he was too excited but he knew he wasn't suppose to eat it until we said okay. What a good boy but poor thing. LOL. One of Phyllo's strengths is his food motivated characteristic. No worries, regular walks take care of the excess weight. LOL.

Later this afternoon, while I was working, I caught the boys passing time by challenging ea. other.

They were at it for almost 20 minutes. This is great for the weather isn't permitting me to take them for a stroll. After said and done, they were napping again! I think they got their exercise for the day.

So which one is Phyllo and which one is Brutus?

Pug Club of KC-Halloween Bash

Yesterday, we went to the Halloween bash hosted by the Pug Club of KC. And there were probably about 50 pugs showed up!

I HAD A BLAST!

People brought so much treats! So we decided to congregate around the treat table waiting to be fed or something that might be dropped on the floor :)

I was always the smart one that stood by the treat table looking handsome-I get a lot more treats that way.

Then for a while...it was like a butt smelling contest...I smell you...

you smell me...

And then some one had an accident. Ew!

It was a great day because I hadn't been around this many pugs since I left Dallas. Yay! We are definitely going to the next Pug Club event...or at least I think I am.

Pugcorn!

My pugcorn outfit was one of the 3 winners in the small dog category at the 2009 Growloween event on the plaza.

My homey Rugby was one of the 3 winners too! He was the Wild Thing!

We all gathered at Mill Creek park for costume contest before going trick or treat on the plaza...there were A LOT of dogs.

My boys and I were anxiously waiting for the fun part to get started. Yes, just treats, no tricks. After an all morning outing, we were exhausted. The best part now is counting my blessings, or the big people call that treats.

This is my prize from the contest: an eco-friendly toy made with recycled materials and a treat pass to get baked goodies from Three Dog bakery monthly.

Yes!! This is all the treats that I've gotten today (minus several that I've already eaten.) It's gonna last me for a while :)

"HELLO, BOYS!" Phyllo says.
We finally took Phyllo to meet his cousins, Brooklyn and Rugby, in Lawrence Kansas. It was his happiest day in Kansas (so far!)

Brooklyn and Phyllo seemed to be always busy playing with something. Rugby was the nice and quite one standing in the back watching.

It was hard to find them all sitting together quietly, unless they were waiting for their treats to arrive...

Hi! He is still not sure about his new toy yet. Hes quite handsome I suppose.
Saw two female pugs during his walk today and they were barking as if they saw a celebrity on the street. Phyllo kept walking not even looking back.LOL.

Thought I saw a squirrel!!!! He doesn't bother them at all. Hes not the hunter type.

He loves to give chase to a ball.

He was happy to be out. He walked right beside me focused on his walk the entire time as he explored the neighborhood and a park close by. What a good boy! Believe me, when I am working on a painting in my studio my pics of him to show his mommy looks like this 9 out of the 10 pictures. LOL.

We were bursting with joy and excitement as we parked at this Petsmart in Denton, a town in Dallas. Today, we will be meeting OPEY (his original name) for the very first time. We were also excited to meet his foster mom who was such a nice lady who currently fosters 5 pugs at her home. She had Phyllo for two weeks. The suspense was killing us for we didn't know what to expect since this was our first dog. We just hope that he is as calm and as good as his foster mom had described to us. As soon as we walked in we were wondering where he was at. Within a few seconds to our right by the doggy isle came a cart with a pug resting on the front end of the shopping cart with his long tongue and curly tail. It was a moment to remember. He was so mellow, cute with the kindness and grateful facial expression. We bonded immediately. Had a moment to chat with the foster mom about doggy things to get for the 10 hour trip back to Kansas City. I suppose this is it!!! This is where it begins. Please visit DFW's website in Dallas and support by either adopting a pug or donating for a good cause. We hope to have room for another later down the road but for now we have our hands full.

Look at how happy the new mom is. Well Phyllo was her birthday present. She wanted one for a VERY LONGGGG TIME NOW!!!

Phyllo is doing well. No accidents and not even one bark or fuss. We were starting to wonder. Well, I am just glad that he was going with the flow. We can't wait to show him around in his new home in Perfect Village. LOL. More to report on his first day and night at the house.
